Hello Brian, I will try to help but you have to provide more info. Here is what I do to run two computers using auto232. First you do not need any auto232 software when using 2 Fritz GUIs. 1. Start both programs and get Fritz running in each. 2. In the one you want to be "Slave", hit these keys all at the same time- ctrl / alt / j. That's the control key, alternate key and the letter j on the keyboard. This brings up a "Select Device" box. You have to click which com port the null modem cable is connected to on this computer. You then click on the "Auto-232 1.0" and then click the "OK" box. When you have done this another box appears which is the "Autoplayer" box. If the "Master" box is checked you have to uncheck it. You can then fill in the "Engine/Opponent/Title" blocks if you like and then click the "OK" box. This will bring up the "Technical Messages" box. You are now finished with the "Slave" computer/program. 3. Go the the other computer and start over again. The only difference is this time you make sure the "Master" block is checked. After the second computer gets to the "Technical messages" box they should start playing. If not, you possibly have a problem with your null modem cable. Try this procedure and tell me what happens. Jim
