Or, in other words, it's just not fast enough to be competitive to what other people post here. I have not found another job yet, and honestly I suspect that I will not find other work for at least another couple of months. Software development jobs are very difficult to find during the holidays, for several reasons: 1) Most companies are mostly concerned about their big holiday releases at this time, and do not need to hire new people for these projects. 2) Most companies have now reached the end of their yearly budget, and couldn't get approval to hire new people even if they desperately needed them. 3) It's the holidays, and more people are taking vacations, and clerical things like getting people hired just tend to take longer around this time. I have applied for two jobs, and one of them was posted on a job-hunting website over two weeks ago. I inquired about it, and was told that the there was no intention to hire anybody for the position until at least the end of January! However, my severance package was relatively generous, so I have a little time to spare. My wife says Hello! jm
