For several reasons. 1. that kind of learning is very time-dependent. It is really intended to solve problems caused where a clever opponent takes you out of book really quickly, then "feels" his way around to a winning-type position and then tries it repeatedly on a chess server to inflate his rating. This kind of learning makes that _very_ difficult to do in a series of games. 2. The data is stuffed into the hash table as "permanent" entries. If the file gets bigger, then you lose hash table entries, for positions you will probably never see anyway. I don't publish the position.bin learn files as they are very opponent-specific and also _highly_ version-specific since they contain specific evaluations and search results that a different version might disagree with... I delete mine weekly, for example....
