Are you saying that these portables also announce the Mate in 10 in this amount
of time? If so, then that's rather impressive. Although, this is a fairly easy
mating sequence because all of White's moves are checks.

Just for comparison, CM9000, on a P3-733, finds it in less than one second:

Time	Depth	Score	Positions	Moves
0:00	1/3	2.90	6763 1.Rxh6+ gxh6 2.Qf6+ Kh7 3.Qe7+
					Kh8 4.Qxe5+ Kh7 5.Qe7+ Kh8 6.Qxd8+
					Kg7 7.Qe7+ Kg6
0:00	1/4	Mate10	13475 1.Rxh6+ gxh6 2.Qf6+ Kh7 3.Qe7+
					Kh8 4.Qxd8+ Kg7 5.Qg8+ Kf6 6.Qf7+
					Kg5 7.Qg7+ Kh5 8.Bf7+ Kh4 9.Qxh6+
