Just for fun and out of curiousity, I compared this with my P4@2.5GHz

Analysis by Fritz 7:

1.Qe3 Bxc3 2.bxc3 Qd5 3.Re4 Kg8 4.Rd2 Rcb8
  ³ (-0.31) Depth: 7/28 00:00:00 179kN
1.Qe3 Ke8 2.Ncb5 Bc5 3.Nc7+ Rxc7 4.dxc7 Qxb2
  ³ (-0.31) Depth: 8/26 00:00:00 316kN
1.Qe3 Ke8 2.Ra1 Bxc3 3.Qxc3 Nc5 4.Qc2 Qd5 5.Nf3 Nd3
  ³ (-0.44) Depth: 9/29 00:00:01 991kN
1.Rxh5
  ³ (-0.41) Depth: 9/29 00:00:02 1999kN
1.Rxh5
  = (-0.25) Depth: 9/29 00:00:03 2235kN
1.Rxh5 gxh5 2.Qxh5 Nxf6 3.exf6 Bxd6+ 4.Kh3 Ke8 5.Nxe6 Rc6 6.Rg1 Bf8
  = (0.00) Depth: 9/30 00:00:03 2746kN
1.Rxh5 gxh5 2.Qxh5 Nxf6 3.exf6 Bxd6+ 4.Kh3 Ke8 5.Nxe6 Ra6 6.Rg1 Rb8 7.Rg8+ Kd7
8.Rxb8
  = (0.00) Depth: 10/32 00:00:05 3850kN
1.Rxh5!
  ² (0.28) Depth: 11/36 00:00:11 9177kN
1.Rxh5!
  ² (0.56) Depth: 11/36 00:00:14 11998kN
1.Rxh5!
  ± (1.13) Depth: 11/37 00:00:19 15964kN
1.Rxh5! Nxf6 2.exf6 Bxd6+ 3.Kh3 Kg8 4.Qe3 Bf8 5.Rb5 Qc7 6.Kg2 Rd8 7.Ne4
  +- (1.88) Depth: 11/37 00:00:40 32522kN
1.Rxh5 Nxf6 2.exf6 Bxd6+ 3.Kh3 Kg8 4.Qe3 Bf8 5.Rb5 Qc7 6.Kg2 Rd8 7.Ne4 e5
  +- (1.72) Depth: 12/38 00:00:59 48780kN

the last lines are remarkably different. Could be parameter or hash settings?

so

P4 P3
11 sec > 26 sec
14 sec > 34 sec
19 sec > 45 sec
40 sec > 94 sec

or all around 2.3 to 2.4 times faster.
that seems consistent with my benchmark of my old PIII@750 against the new one.

I guess all kinds of resident software will slow things, but that must be the
same with your CPU, I guess.

And now for the KN's, well this is telling absolutely nothing. (Is it?)

P4 P3
9177kN > 9504kN
11998kN > 12556kN
15964kN > 16947kN
32522kN > 35420kN
