Forgot to mention about the PSU.. cheaper ones can get the job done. I got one a few years ago that was a 400 watt for only $30 or so. This is back when I use to run my old modified Abit KT7a and Thunderbird 1GHz at 1.7GHz & 2.2 volts. The cpu alone was 145.88 watts. I also had a raid array of 2 drives, 2 cdroms, overclocked geforce2 ultra at the time.. also ran the three 5v mosfets on the board directly to the 5v rail on the psu. So far over the past 2 years that psu has been perfect, no voltage fluctuations or anything with the PC running full load 24/7(distributed.net, doing RC5). It's still running today but only at 1.5GHz and 2.1v, same psu, board, modifications, etc except using air-cooling now (put the liquid cooling on the AthlonXP). Just because it's cheap doesn't make it bad. ;) The main idea was to build a "decent" system for under $500.
