Subject: What is the point in using fast computers for making a ranking?

IMHO isnt it better just to use cheap (old) computers, but ALL THE SAME, then
to try to use some new fast computers mixed with old ones? This only messes up
the rating list.
The only reason i can figure out to use new computers, is that programs cant
benifit from recent technology improvements, but in that case, NO program can.
