Withing the next three months you would NOT see much improvement over Deep Fritz
in (Comp vs Comp)

And over the next few years, you will NOT see much improvement over Fritz 8 in
Computer vs Humans either, except that Fritz 10 might play 50 Elo points
stronger when facing a human plus another 80 point by using a Xeon or MP which
is 4x stronger than what it was used against Kramnik.

Yes of course, your bank account will be a few thousand dollars more if you save
that amount every time you think of buying a new computer just for chess, or a
few hundred dollars if you don't upgrade your system. :)
