The first program to solve this position was chess 4.x in a CDC Cyber 176 computer. It took 26 plies and 23 minutes of cpu time to do so... That was back in the days when that program searched about 2500 nodes per second and had 65536 hash table entries... That was where I mis-remembered the "23" from...
