This difference might raise you from 2700 to 2800...

I have mixed feelings about that in draughts... In all games, there is something
that we could call a tactical barrier beyond which tactics becomes less
important. In draughts I think that we are now beyond this barrier, most
programs see what happens tactically in most positions. So, strategy is now
taking the most important part. You need to play on the right square, you can't
really outsearch the opponent anymore.


Another related question is :

"Evaluation is probably extremely important against human players, whereas
searching deeper is probably extremely important against computer players."
