The last time I checked, neither of these programs were capable of adjusting it's program strength to the beginning level. I once ran a test of both on ICC. I set CSTal-II to lever 1 and played blitz matches with it. It carried a blitz rating over 2000 in spite of only searching around 500 nodes/sec. I also ran some test of Chess Tiger (14 I think) on the lowest beginning level. It played about 200 points below Fritz 6 at blitz. ChessMaster is still the best at changing it's level/style in my opinion. Jim
