I came to an idea improve chessprograms. For instance instead of make the program look from the start position make it look from the move after the selected move is played. meaning now with the curent methodes it looks in the intial position for e4 thinking lines 1e4,e5 2Nf3 In the way I ment it the program starts calculating from the position 2.Nf3 but after some more selctive choosen moves much deeper While in the old way it looks at that same postion at move 1.e4 This never would work on old systems but with the curent speedy hardware it might be possible (I would like to hear if it is or not from programmers. Don't hasitate to tell me this idea is bull when it is But also tell me if you find possebiltys to use this idea. Or that this methode already is tried before.) You could get a search depth which tacticaly is more corect. only selectivety will be of great importance with this methode. Not to mention that it also is possible too restrict the search depth of a move to start a new selective search from the initial position. Marc van Hal
