The strongest dedicated tabletop chess computer I have seen is the TASC R30 with
version 2.5 of the program running in it. It is very rare to see these days.

Other posters are correct in saying that a P133 (even this slow!) will win most
of its games against the TASC R30 when the P133 runs a decent commercial
program. I even suspect that the free programs such as Crafty (very strong
freeware program) would trash the thing.

Still, the R30 is a BEAUTIFUL unit with piece recognition built into it so it
knows the difference between a bishop, knight, white knight vs black knight,
etc. This is makes those "knocked over a piece" situations a breeze to correct
- the software doesn't get confused.

In terms of strength, the R30 plays about 2375 ELO (or thereabouts).

Hope this helps,

Roy
