My rating has been on the decline these past few years, and I think that it has less to do with age (I'm 38) than it does with ratings. For one thing, the ratings seem to differ depending upon what part of the country you are in. Here in Utah, it is thought that the ratings are low, and our top players seem to do very well compared to their ratings when they play in out of state tournaments. Ratings seem to have always gone through periods of inflation and deflation. Have rating points been harder to get these last few years? This should affect how we look at programs. At the moment I don't trust any claim of any rating on any program. John
