Hello All, I am having a problem with the Fritz8 gui. When I start the prog. (before I even start a game) the Fritz 8 gui uses all my available free ram (usually I have over 500mb free, I have 768 in total). The prog will take this amount of memory until I unload and reload the engine then everything is ok. I wouldn't mind except when I go to play on playchess as soon as I define my engine for computer games the prog. takes all available ram. When playing this drastically slows the engine (it gives readings of 1-5 kn/s) and it loses most of the time. I am not able to get around this problem. Has anyone else experienced this? any help would be appreciated. many thanks Rory ps. I am running win XP pro 768mb ram geforce3 graphics card.
