1) A 1200mhz laptop will play as well as a 1200mhz desktop in general--they have have slower busses. 2) There is a 20% price premium ( or so ) for a machine being a laptop--i will gladly pay this for convienence and mobility. Yes, you can get a very cheap desktop made by a bit player, but these don't interest me. I'd rather pay a bit more and get a solid machine with onsite service. 3) I like the powePC chip, and it will run many solid programs just fine. dave
