on my p4 2.4ghz:

Fritz 5.32 1,500 - 1,600 k/ns
Fritz 7    940 - 950 k/ns

even though, Fritz 5 has a higher nps count, it usually searches 1 ply or so
less.  And Fritz 7 or even 8 has a lot more knowledge.
