Here is a good one for all of you who like to use formulas to calculate just how much MB Hash Tables to allow Fritz. I am presently using an AMD Athlon 2600+ XP 1 GIG of DDR SDRAM (PC2100) with Windows Professional XP Operating system. I set Deep Fritz 7 at 818 MB Hash Tables. The suggested max for my computer shows 819, but it is to my understanding that only even numbers should be used. As the instructions in the Fritz manual show 64 MB is much more valuable than 63MB Hash. It also mentions Powers of Two. I always had questions pertaining to a Formula for Hash Table settings. Especially when I was using a Pent II 350 MHz PC. I guess trial and error is the only way to go. Check out some of the latest games it played on ICC as Deep-Katzparov. It's most recent loss was really a draw because I fell asleep for a few moments and lost the game on time for it. Only the last 10 games or less were with Deep Fritz 7 at 818 MB hash The others were at 96 MB Hash, and that was with Fritz 7. Brian Katz
