At that time, CG for Palm seemed amazingly strong and easy to use given such an inexpensive PDA. Having such a nice portable chess program prompted me to get a color Palm (a Handspring, actually) so the screen would be brighter and clearer. Then I started discovering all the other great software for the Palm. The strength of CG for Palm has not increased much (if at all) since that time; meanwhile, CT for Palm has come out and is much stronger (and of course I bought it). If I were to recommend just one chess program for Palm, it certainly would be CT as opposed to CG. However, don't forget that CG was good in the earlier days and is still a fine piece of software. It just has much superior competition now. That doesn't make CG "bad" -- it just makes CT "great".
