An alternative is to use an approach suggested here by Fabien Letouzey on September 11th 2002, which can be found in this file from the archives: ftp://ftp.talkchess.com/ccc/d1020911.zip My program uses MTD(f), and it uses the hash table to get the PV. I've not tried the other method, although I intend to try it some day. Andrew
