This is probably one of the most often misquoted phrases in history. I hardly
ever see it accurately quoted. The actual quote is, "the love of money is a root
of all kinds of evil," (1 Timothy 6:10, Bible) which is saying quite a different
thing. Money is not bad in itself, and even the love of money is not evil, but
the love of money can lead to other kinds of evil, like greed and jealousy,
which lead to even more kinds of evil.
