There is actually a small gain in performance using S-ATA. At least it seems so in most benchmarks I have run. The main gain is as you correctly pointed out the fact that you will have S-ATA hard drives. The minor thing is the ease of cabling. No more Origami. On board RAID is ok, though. Not as good as a dedicated card but good enough. If you really want speed SCSI is the only way to go. Until S-ATA is truly integrated, that is. MvH Dan Andersson
