The tablebases or the usage which comes with Tiger are not good
if it can find an endgame with only pawns on the board while it could have find
in the tablebases a rook queen King King rook would be quicker it still plays
for the pawn endgame.

So sofar endgame tables and nullmove pruning are still not optimal.

If you want a test position for your program make it play the Tarasch or other
positions with isolany corectly.
this needs a lot more atention then number 10002 mate in 15.
Playing strenght should be number1 (And I don't mean for program a versus
program b but general playing strenght )

And only then test poitions
If it doesn't have the playing strenght it never will come in this sort of test
positions anyways.
Because this needs to be prepared and does not come out the black hole.
Gambit Tiger2 and Junior where sofar the programs who had most chance to
actualy come in this kind of test positions

Maybe Christophe might find a way to bring the old gambit tiger style back
Maybe Amir finds a way to make the search less risky.
It also would be intresting if more programmers would build to such a style
That might be one of his and many enduser wishes for 2003

Mery christmas and a hapy new year.

Marc
