Thank You./Bill Dozier I have puchased many flavors of Dell Machines , they arrive generally in a week or less, they are well built and have all the latest drivers. They offer many diffferent levels of support - from 1 year M-F to 3 year 24x7. I have alos purchased many Dells for friends. If they are newbies, I always get them the 24x7 3 year support. Only once, did any of them ever needed it. They were a shipped a new drive with a their original image same day. It saved ME a lot of aggravation. Right now, you can get a 1.8 Ghz desktop with monitor for $549 or a 1.7Ghz laptop for $899. http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/default.htm I have generally like their business units better than the consumer units - but you check both out. The consumer units are more geared towards high end video and audio -- the buisness units are have less emphasis pn the video and audio. Of course, you get the top of the line for $2 or $3k, if that is what you after. I have finally reached a point where a dual 1.8Ghz is plenty for me and I don't see getting a new machine for a while. I now have to weaken the programs to enjoy (beat) them or just play them on Palms.
