Yesterday I reported a huge blunder committed by my Fritz 8 program that I could not duplicate. Today I discovered what happened. When I exit the Internet, if I start up the F8 program too soon, like within a minute or less, the program loads very slowly and for at least part of the first game it will calculate at 2-6 kn's/sec rather than the usual 400-600. I don't know why, but at least I can look out for that in future. Sorry for the alarm...apparently nothing wrong with the program. By the way, I ordered F8 from Chessbase on Dec 3 and got version 8.008 eric
