From my personal impressions and the Ruffian results I read anywhere, I'd expect
that it will be rated 2700+ on the SSDF list.
This tournament was played on P3/700, 40 move in 1 hour:
Novemberturnier 2002
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
1 Ruffian 1.0.1 ** ½1 10 10 11 ½½ 10 ½1 9.0/14
2 Fritz 7 ½0 ** 01 ½½ 11 01 11 01 8.5/14 56.00
3 Chess Tiger 14 01 10 ** 1½ 00 10 11 11 8.5/14 51.50
4 Nimzo 8 01 ½½ 0½ ** 10 ½½ ½1 11 8.0/14 49.25
5 Shredder 5.32 00 00 11 01 ** 11 10 11 8.0/14 48.00
6 Junior 5 ½½ 10 01 ½½ 00 ** 1½ ½0 6.0/14
7 Hiarcs 7.32 01 00 00 ½0 01 0½ ** 11 5.0/14
8 Yace 0.99.56 ½0 10 00 00 00 ½1 00 ** 3.0/14
(Here, the progs all had the same book though.)
As for CM9K, I've read Kurt Utzinger's impressive results, which are from custom
settings though. I'd expect that at least the selectivity setting would be
increased when testing King 3.23 on A1200... it should be among the Top-6 I
guess. Prediction F8, S7, T15, CM9K, Ruffian, choose the 6th by personal taste
:o))
