David I have purchased Shredder 7 two weeks ago. friend, sparring and handicap mode works fine for me. you also have the possibility to download the latest internet upgrade for your GUI. if you purchase Shredder 7 be aware that it only contains 1 CD. Multimedia CD was not included in my package. therefore Talk files are not available. it is possible to use the Talk files of Fritz 7.
