If you chose the normal install the Shredder 7 book should have been installed. Check c:\My Documents\Chessbase\Books and look for shredder7.ctg. If it is not installed, go through installation again, choose custom installation and check book only. That will install the shredder book. Or you can copy the shredder7.ctb, .ctg, and .cto files from the root directory on the CD to above mentioned folder, then highlight them, right click, properties, and uncheck the read only box. In the main window of the program, on the right, click on the openings book window. If no book is installed the button will say load book. Click on it and the above mentioned folder will be opened. You should now see shredder7.ctg. If you have installed, or copied other books it is best to install them in the above mentioned folder as that is the default for the GUI. To open/use book it’s file–> new–-> openings book and you once again get the above mentioned folder. Just click on the appropriate .ctg file and that book will be loaded. d.
