This result looks indeed very bad for the Gambit style. I am curious how your other matches will end! I don't own Fritz 8 myself, so i cannot compare the different Tiger styles with Fritz 8. I prefer to play against Tiger 15 Gambit agressive style, because the normal Tiger plays to passiv sometimes. Here is an example where I tested, how active the program would play: Date: 23/11/2002 White: Jan Kiwitter Black: Chess Tiger 15.0 engine - Normal style Opening: A00 Clemenz Opening 1. h3 e5 2. d3 d5 3. a3 Nc6 4. e3 Nf6 5. b3 Bd6 6. g3 O-O 7. Bb2 Re8 8. Bg2 a5 9. Nd2 Bc5 10. Ne2 Bf5 11. Qc1 Qd6 12. Qd1 Qe7 13. Qc1 h6 14. Rb1 Bg6 15. Ra1 Qd7 16. Rb1 d4 17. e4 Bh5 18. Qd1 Qe7 19. Ra1 Nd7 20. Ra2 f6 21. Ra1 Na7 22. Qc1 Nc8 23. Qd1 Nd6 24. Ra2 Rf8 25. Ra1 Nb8 26. Ra2 Nc6 27. Ra1 Kh7 28. Ra2 Qe8 29. Ra1 Qd7 30. Ra2 a4 31. b4 Bb6 32. Ra1 g5 33. Rb1 Kg7 34. Ba1 Ne7 35. Rc1 f5..... Finally f5… I admit I played nonsense moves but I was just curious how the program would react. Why doesn’t it play f7-f5 or c7-c5-c4 earlier? And I have other examples… Using the Gambit style Tiger often find such plans much earlier... Regards Jan
