i have just started a 50 match between fritz 8(version 8008) and deep fritz 7
conditions: single computer; celeron 1.466ghz; each programme gets 112 mb hash;
ponder off; tbs on; 60 moves in 75 min; opening books=tiger.ctg i plan to use
either this or the lunsen opening books as a common platform for all engines to
eliminate bias.
(i initially let them use their own opening books; it was like a lottery as in
each of the 4 games, the engines came out of book well into the middle game as
often 28 moves deep with a score of as much as +2; needless to add it was a war
of opening books as the games were won or lost even before they had started.)
current score f8 1/2 1 0 1 1/2 1 1/2 = 4.5/7
df7 1/2 0 1 0 1/2 0 1/2 = 2.5/7
unfortunately during the 8th game which f8 was leading with an eval =-3.08, the
comp froze and had to be rebooted without my being able to save the game. i have
n't posted the games but will do so at the end of every 10 games.
