Subject: What is the real score here?

In a most recent game my engine ended up in this position as black:

[D] 3q4/3P2kp/5p2/p7/1p1R2P1/8/2Q2PK1/4r3 b - - 0 1

It played Kf8 here and Tinker played Qxh7 (instantly by the way, ponder hit I
think) the score dropped to -6 real fast.
Before Kf8 the score was drawish.

Whenever I see something like that I'm interested in why it couldn't sense the
danger sooner.

It is a complicated position, I think white is winning, but have to be careful
not getting a perpetual check. The question is, what is the real score here and
what is the best move?
But even more important, how do I make it fail low on Kf8 faster?

-S.
