The update was specifically propagated as to be used for those with Shredder 7 having problems. I own Fritz 8 and installed it anyway to see what would happen. Most of the time I'll regret this, as the standard for PC's is "if it ain't broke don't fix it, but if you fix it anyhow, it sure will break", but this time I noticed the frame rate of the 3D board more than doubled. With a P4@2.5GHz, a Matrox G400 (32Mb) and 512Mb DDR it went up from 3 fps to 7 fps. Still not very impressive, but the G400 (or any Matrox card) is not likely to be your top choice for 3D gaming, so the low rate doesn't surprise me. However some fixing, so it seems, for every 8-version GUI. J.
