I forgot a question: Were't the ratings changed for personalities as well as Chessmaster changed from CM8K to CM9K? What were these changes? If I recall correctly there was a base rate change as well as an algorithm change. Ralph P.S. My funky font problem was indeed caused by having ClearType font smoothing turned on. Setting this to Standard smoothing works fine, though it's a little disappointing, as I find the ClearType method much superior, particularly at smaller point sizes. Thanks again.
