Ruffian 1.0.1 very strong in blitz games v. Chess Tiger 14
More proof, not that it is needed, that Ruffian 1.0.1 is a very strong engine,
resulted from 90 blitz games, 5'+10" on Athlon 750, 112 MB hash between Chess
Tiger 14 and Ruffian 1.0.1. Overall result for 90 games, 45.5 - 44.5 in CT14's
favor. In decided games 26-25 in CT14's favor.
CT14 won 22.5 - 17.5 in a 40 game match where CT14 used its own book and Ruffian
used Fritz Powerbook 2002 book, most likely not the best choice for Ruffian. In
decided games 14-9 in CT14's favor.
However, using Nunn 2 (25 opening positions by GM John Nunn to
minimize/eliminate effect of opening book, with each engine playing one game
with white and one game with black from the opening position) Ruffian came out
on top 27-23. In decided games 16-12 in Ruffian’s favor.
