Hey Frank, I'm not sure I understand your argument. If the engine was intended to run flawlessly outside the Chessmaster GUI, then you would be right that aquiring the opk number would be an annoying hassle. That, however, isn't the case AFAIK. That it is possible at all to use The King with other WB compatible GUIs is a bonus in itself. If the King engine had been using another protocol, this discussion would be irrelevant.
