Thus it can be identified by its output. This is just to make things harder for some ill-willed participant, claiming he's using his engine but is in fact using Fritz-8 or whatever. Though I doubt that a programmer would try this. So, I'd suggest to kibitz as much as you can (depth, nodes per sec, table base accesses...), and things will be okay. Right, Volker ?
