No it is not very impressive, in my humble oppinion. Chessbase or chess
assistant is the only way to go. Chessbase is easier especially if you already
use Fritz. Chess assistant may have a few more features, but it's harder to
learn and the board display is quite a bit more crowded than chessbase. It does
have a nice audio tutorial in the latest version though. In truth though for
training purposes, most people can get by with the database features of fritz
itself. There are a few claims that bookup organizes openings well. It could be
that the display itself puts one off, it seems very very amateur compared to
Fritz and chess assistant. I would advise you to pass on it. Though if you are
really serious about improving your chess(and serious does have to be a
pre-requisite to doing that)- The Chess training programs by convekta- the chess
assistant i believe are by far far far ther best thing- short of a live master
for training purposes, and in many ways better, you don't have to constantly pay
these progams, they are always there and the material and features are
incredible - get ct-art, opening blunders, and middlegames I and II -
absolutely indispensable.
