Marc, Thanks for reminding me that Ken's data is btm only, 1-0/other only and incomplete. The reason why Ken does not have DTM = 0 in the position you give is that he cites ... the depth of the btm position _after_ the one given. Thus here, we will be in KRK. In an extreme case, two captures can have taken place before the position whose depth is quoted: a Black capture followed by a White capture. g
