In the CM9000 GUI, the settings for "Tactical" are: Attacker/Defender -33 Strength of Play 100 Material/Positional 33 Randomness 0 Max Search Depth 99 Selective Search 11 Contempt for Draw 0.0 Transposition Table 32MB Pondering ON Endgame Databases ON Own Control of Center 133 Opposing Control of Center 133 Own Mobility 133 Opposing Mobility 133 Own King Saftey 133 Opposing King Safety 133 and the other Positional parameters are the defaults. Own Queen 9.1 Opposing Queen 9.0 and the other Material parameters are the defaults. I truly doubt these settings are overall stronger than CM9000 or some of the other customizations that have proven stronger than the CM9000 defaults. However it makes for one very interesting opponent. I have not compared its play to some of the built-in personalities such as Tal, Shirov, ... all of which are also strong tacticians/attackers themselves. My reason for playing Junior 7 was to see if it could play reasonably well against a very strong engine (that is also a great attacker). Of course one game means nothing and I will play a few more just to gather a few more data points... Roy
