There is no evidence that deeper blue was better in tactics because there is no impressive good move that top programs need hours to find. It is natural to suspect that the player who stopped to play has something to hide It has nothing to do with the behaviour of kasparov after the match because Deeper Blue could play in other tournaments and if Deeper blue was better than the programs of today then it means that they could win almost every WCCC. People remember that deep blue lost against Fritz3(it was only deep blue prototype but it does not change the impression) If they were really better they could probably correct that impression by scoring 100% or even only 90% in the next WCCC and the only reason that I understand not to do it is in case that they are not sure almost in 100% that they can do it.
