kramnik performed beautifully against bareev. he reaped a half point more from the position than i expected. i have to allow for the posssibility, that uri might be right, but thats a very cynical view.also i dont know if your psychological observations about kramniks resignation in a drawing position against f8 are either accurate or telling. and they do not lead to an inference about his game with pono. as an example if he felt ill or tired kramnik may well have been concerned how he might appear to lose and not whether in fact he'd lose to the chipmeister. we americans call this "protecting the franchise."
