In the Iliad, the supposedly the Goddess of Wisdom, Pallas Athene, entered into beauty contest after the uninvited Goddess of Discord (Eris) threw a golden apple in the middle of the party whose hosts failed to invite her. The apple had the tag: TO THE FAIREST. Of course every one knows Aphrodite would win hands down but the female gender's vanity (for want of a better word also no sexism intended) caused all the Olympus' goddesses to compete thus resulting in the Trojan War. No chess version of the Trojan War here, please! Sandi
