Good question - I'm not sure so I always delete.

Yes - you can start and quit as much as you want.  For each start and quit
session, you will a new *.dyn file

I am not sure on that question either.  I suspect I am compiling the "time
consuming way".

Are you using Intel 6 or 7 .  Intel 7 seems to be improved for Xeon chips from
what I can see.  Also what options are you using?
