It's a mistake to assume that most people here are good players, I think. Being
a good programmer is FAR more important than skill at chess, I think.

My best advice is to get something very simple working and then interface it to
Winboard/Xboard and get it playing on ICC. You'll find that a *very* good way to
test your program in the early stages.
