In the opening book of Chess Tiger 15 I found a similar problem: after the moves
1.d3 d5 2.d4 Chess Tiger 15 does not recognize it can play the Queens Gambit
with reversed colours by playing 2... c5. Or another example: after 1.c3 e5 2.c4
it could play the Sicilian Defence with black as if i had white by continuing
2.Nf6 and 3.d5.
