It's possible to download ZX Spectrum emulators and most (or all) of the Chess
(and other) software available for it from World Of Spectrum at

I used to own Cyrus IS Chess, which was pretty strong for its time, which is
online, and the very first Chessmaster (as far as I know, correct me if I'm
wrong).  There are numerous other Chess programs, and I haven't uncovered all of
them yet.  Enjoy.
