And again found I the time to play a game. After a short loss due to an
unjustified opening experiment, I could get the following draw which is a
further confirmation for me that the ELO ratings of the chess programs are much
too high.
Und erneut hatte ich diesen Sonntag Lust auf eine Partie. Nach einem Verlust in
einem Eröffnungsexperiment gelang mir kleinem Würstchen die folgende
Remispartie, was mir einmal mehr bestätigte, dass die ELO-Werte der
Schachprogramme einfach viel zu hoch sind:

would understand the position and I was prepared for a long defence. But
suddenly, Fritz8 made the terrible positional error 14.a5 allowing Black with
his 'doing nothing but doing well strategy' to get an easy draw. Kurz nach
der Eroeffnung sah es so aus, als ob Fritz8 begriffen haette, um was es geht.
Doch mit 14.a5 beging Fritz8 eine schrecklichen positionellen Fehler. Dies
erlaubte Schwarz mit seiner 'Stillhaltestrategie" ein leichtes Remis zu

White's aim must be to go for b4-b5 when Black will get a weak pawn structure.
Konsequent fortgesetzt: Weiss muss b4-b5 anstreben, wonach Schwarz eine

{ ?? Hard to believe
that one of the best chess programs of the world can decide for such an
antipositional pawn advance. ?? Kaum zu glauben, dass eines der staerksten
Computerprogramme auf der Welt mit einem derart antipositionellen
Bauernvorstoss aufwartet.

delays the maneouvre f7-f5 Natuerlich war auch 17...Sf6 moeglich, doch
