Judging from the PVs Ferret kibitzed, indeed the moves you gave an "!" were at least a slight surprise to Ferret. Ok - this game was not won directly by the attack. But more optimistically, I could also interprete it by: "At the right time converted to a won endgame". I believe normally recent versions of Yace are rather calm (in the context of the "attacking spirit"). It was extremely exciting to me, to watch the games. And, what I saw until now, was ratehr pleasing, and makes me happy. Very nice game vs. Pepito. Vs. Tao and Arasan, the same opening. Yace had a triple c-pawn. In both cases Schroer critisized this. But in both cases, it went on well. Perhaps it was even seen, that the triple pawn will not stay there for long. Vs. Searcher, again I think a very uncomfortable position for Yace with the pawn rams in the center. Again (optimistically looking at it) Yace found some creative solution for it, and soon the center pawns of Searcher dissapeared. Another nice game of Yace was vs. Pepito. To me it looks, Yace made everything well there. Schroers comment: "Schroer(IM)(64): Yace won with a very nicely played Minority Attack, culminating in tactics involving the 7th rank, a passed b pawn, and a potential pin on the h1-a8 long diagonal. Not so long ago, people openly wondered if a computer would ever be able to play a Minority Attack!" really was nice to read. Such sort of comment from a strong player does not happen often ...
