Hi Don: Of course all the thing seems exagerated and apocaliptic the way you put it. But that is not the wya I puted or tied to put it. I do not believe a witch hund will begin or that there is a list of ready-to-be exulsed guys. No, no. I dont say. either, that only Chris, Thorsten and two or three more e the only creative people here. In fact, at least in terms of computer chess, the most creative people here are you, Amir, Christhpe, Bob Hyatt, Ed and the resto f programmers, professional or amateurs. And only Chris, between them, has gone. I don' t say, either, that creative powers go toguether with insults. Well, maybe you can ask, what, then, YOU REALLY say? Forgive me, Don, maybe I have literary skills, BUT in my language, spanish. In english I fight even againts elemental rules. So, probably I lack the words to say exactly what i mean, But i will try: what I mean is thtat the creative life of an endeavour need a necesary dosis of things that seems out of question. Like very hard steel alloy needs a mix of rare, even non metalic substances, like some chemical reactions needs some dosis of weird components, so the life of a gropus cannot live without a dosis of insults, harsh words, wrath, personal attacks, jesters, etc. Yes, I know this sems madness. Nevertheles, it is so. As a sociologist and just like a 49 years old man, i have seen and studied and searched enough about human dynamic to know that when you try to clean them of aparently foreign elements with respect to his formal purpose, you are likely to lose a lot more. You know, Don? I am not a man of science and so I do not love the scientific ideal worlds where all is rational, purposeful, clean, just to the point, etc. I don not like worlds like that you see in Arthur Clarke novels, where all his characters are ingenieurs thinking mathematical problemas and you don't even know if they are black or white, passionate people or what. This site is for computer chess, but nees to keep a real life a dosis of non chessic affairs, non chessic discussions, non chessic insults and attacks is needed. We need a degree of fun, jokes, to be capable of telling jokes without half a dozen people telling you are "off topic". Yo see now my point? is not only thorsten, wehat matter; it is the kind of site this will be. Surely the atraction of CCC is not, for me, just to read about techncal point of programming. This is not and should not be a kind of speialized magazine. I xcome here to read your non chessic post like this, to read Dgoerge Vidanovic, the comments full of irony of Enrique AND also the chess programming stuff as such. It is diversity what I mean for creativity. It is the base of it. And diversity mean to be tolerant enough to pay the price. Well, I hope this will not seem tou you as something even more out of the board. If it is so, no problem; I undestand that you and me are part of different cultures, your scientific, mine humanistic. I can imagine that from your point of view all this is just crap, literary crap, exagerated words, the kind of non empiric stuff peoople like me thinks and talks. Well, that's right to a degree. I only want that even a fraction of what it is truth and valuable in my words can be useful. Lot of time ago I lost the ambition to be in the right side all the time and entirely. regards Fernando
