One would presume that 127 degrees is a measurement in Farenheit. Conversion to Celsuis renders a result of 52.8 C. This is what both of my dual-CPU workstations run -both- CPUs at, and sometimes the CPUs are even warmer. As Dan stated, maximum operating temperature is 90 C for AthlonXP. At one point I did not have quite enough thermal paste on my heatsink, and my AthlonMP chips were running about 75 C (167 F) each. It worked just fine, though I shut the machine down and corrected my error. I also know of someone with a similar system, and his runs around 70 C. He has no problems. As to the utilization of the CPU affecting temperature, I find that it makes only a small impact with a properly installed heatsink. My CPUs vary about +/- 5 C (~20% thermal drop between CPU and ambient) between idle and full load. As for the actual thermal output of the chip itself, it varies about 12% between average load and maximum load. I always go here to look up Athlon thermal data: http://www.doerte-richter.de/mulle-78/AMD/amd_term_power.htm -Matt
